Now, MSPowerUser has reported that according to its sources, Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition will be one of the first titles released for Scorpio. MSPU claims that Microsoft will bring Mojang’s hit sandbox game to the Xbox One by utilizing the Universal Windows Platform. In addition, MSPU has provided a screenshot, claiming to have tried the game on Xbox One S. According to the report, the game will still have the same name (Minecraft: Xbox One Edition), but other than that it will be different. Judging by the screenshot, the splash screen will be different, while Microsoft has added support for controllers. The Windows 10 version of Minecraft appears to be a lot different than the Xbox One version.
Getting ready for the Scorpio launch
So far, we have seen only a glimpse of what Project Scorpio truly is. We know for a fact that the console will feature impressive specs, which Microsoft confirmed back in April. According to the company, Scorpio will feature a powerful CPU of eight custom x86 cores at 2.3GHz, as well as 12GB of RAM. It is safe to say that Project Scorpio will be a significant step above the current Xbox One S. Here are the full specs of Project Scorpio:
CPU: Eight custom x86 cores clocked at 2.3GHz GPU: 40 customized compute units at 1172MHz Memory: 12GB GDDR5 with 8GB for games Memory bandwidth: 326GB/s Hard drive: 1TB 2.5-inch Optical drive: 4K UHD Blu-ray
Furthermore, a few days ago we saw the LCD screen of the Project Scorpio dev kits in action and it is truly impressive. With this screen, developers can see frame rate counts and see read and write speeds. The report shows an animated version of the screen, but Widows Central suggests the real thing will be seen soon. Another key point of Scorpio is its 4K optical drive. Fans can’t wait to witness the graphics power of the console and Microsoft teased some interesting images in a new private demo, back in April. However, as the Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, pointed out, Scorpio is not all about 4K and the console will offer much more than just good graphics.
