German outlet 3DCenter shows that GPU chips from giants like Nvidia and AMD continue to be expensive. As has been the case over the last 18 months, the units are selling well over market price and scalpers are making massive profits. Nvidia especially has seen no change in the price of GPUs, with both selling between 85% and 89% about their MSRP levels. AMD is seeing some decline, but it is small. This means customers must pay almost double the market cost to get a GPU. It is worth noting 3DCenter only gives us a snapshot of the situation amongst German retailers such as Caseking, Mindfactory, and others. It also only looks at current generation GPU products like AMD’s Radeon RX 6000 or Nvidia GeForce chips running Ampere.

Either way, it is a pointer to an ongoing trend of pricey GPUs we are seeing on a global level.
